Can you compare two used EVs using their dashboard range alone?

A dashboard range reading combines available energy with the vehicle’s assumptions about future consumption. It is not a direct, independent capacity measurement.

Comparing two parked cars by displayed range can therefore be misleading. Check starting charge, variant, recent driving context and how each vehicle produces its estimate. Use comparable battery evidence when the question is battery condition.

For route planning, calculate with a stated consumption assumption and reserve. Keep that planning result separate from a health assessment.
